The Melia Cala Galdana hotel rests on the sandy shores of Cala de Santa Galdana, a small bay considered one of the most beautiful in the whole of the Balearic Islands. With newly renovated (2011) public areas and excellent service, this 4 Star vacation retreat is great for couples and families with attractive twin guestrooms and family rooms surrounded by lovely gardens, a sparking swimming pool, delicious dining choices, and plenty of leisure activities. Melia Cala Galdana Hotel is the only hotel in Cala Galdana that has access directly on to the beach, is six minutes on foot from the shops, and just 15 minutes from the historic town of Ciutadella.
Getting to the hotel: Mahon Airport is 40 km from the hotel.
Local Tips: The small horseshoe cove beach area is accompanied by a small hand full of shops, bars and restaurants making this a perfect spot for visitors wanting serenity and relaxation with livelier options nearby.
Sustainable Tourism Tax is payable in resort from 1st July 2016 up to a maximum of 2 Euros plus VAT per adult per night, depending on the hotel rating.
FACILITIES:
Food, drink and entertainment: Bed and Breakfast accommodation with options for Half Board and Full Board. Melia Cala Galdana Hotel is proud to present the many dining choices available including the main Restaurant Bellavista, offering amazing sea-views, with a superb hot and cold breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet including show-cooking and an Italian Corner with all kinds of noodles and pizzas, and thematic buffets during the week. Es Mirador Restaurant provides an extensive buffet with show cooking on the terrace in the open-air for breakfast and dinner from June to September. Macarella Restaurant has excellent a la carte specialities with views of Cala Galdana beach (booking required). There is also a lobby bar and Es Mirador Terrace with stunning sea views.
Sports, games and activities: Two swimming pools, one for adults and one for children, surrounded a vast area of beautiful gardens with free sunbeds, sunshades and pool towels (deposit required and €1 per charge), daytime and evening entertainment programme for adults and children, multi-purpose sports court, ping-pong, petanca, shuffleboard, shooting gallery, Cyber Corner, games room, pool tables, SPA with free gym, sauna, whirlpool and massages (charged aside). The hotel has direct access to the beach and deck chairs and sunshades are available (service paid to third parties). There is a possibility to practice a wide range of watersports on site and nearby.
For the Kid's: Club4 (up to 4 years of age) from 15/6-15/9 and Mini Club (5 to 12 years); Children's playground.
Additional: 24 hour reception, laundry service (coin operated), room service Wi-Fi Internet connection in all public areas (additional charge), e-point, shopping arcade with supermarket (extra charge), one meeting room with a capacity for 40 people and audio-visual equipment (extra charge), car rental, and parking (limited spaces with extra charge). We are now awarded with Travelife Gold Level I for its environmental , social and cultural practices. Clients on half board basis can choose between breakfast and lunch or breakfast and dinner On request, not always available.. Depending of the occupancy during the months of May and October the full board basis will be menu or buffet. Change “full board” for dinner becasuse we don´t sell on Full board this two months.
