Overview

Bitacora Club Lanzarote has it all. Less than a 10 minute walk to the old town with its large selection of bars and restaurants, all centred around the harbour (only about 6 minutes walk to the Biosfera Shopping Centre, home to Zara, Mango and many more shops!)

Less than 10 minutes walk to the sea. Yet the area is quiet, and you can escape the hustle and bustle of the resort, yet pop down and join in on the atmosphere if the mood takes you!
Lanzarote is an impressive island full of contrasts, with astonishing volcanic landscapes, big beaches and small coves of white, golden or dark sand.

 

Location

Set beneath a range of steep hills on the south coast of Lanzarote, Puerto del Carmen is the island’s major holiday resort. Its main feature is a spectacular two-mile (3km) golden beach, which is backed by a main road, The Strip, where shops, bars and restaurants of every variety can be found. The Old Town retains some of its old world charm, and is home to some of the best fish restaurants on the island.

 

Accommodation

The complex has 85 one bed apartments, all situated around the large adults pool. There is a kiddie’s pool beside this where the kids can have fun and splash around safely.

The pool bar is open from 10 for breakfast, lunch and snacks.

There is a supermarket on site.

Reception is open during the day and there is a coded security gate at night.

 

Activities

Holiday makers can enjoy all sorts of water sports in Puerto del Carmen on the beach, from banana boat rides to jet skiing and sailing. Windsurfing is particularly good due to the strong regular winds. Deep-sea fishing is also excellent and can be arranged through a couple of operators.

 

Scuba diving schools take trips to local wrecks as well as offering lessons. For land-lovers there is tennis and squash within the resort and golf and horse riding nearby. Boat trips go from the harbour and from Puerto Calero. Further afield visitors can explore the dramatic landscape of the Timanfaya National Park.

Most activities can be organised through the tour operator reps, though it is sometimes cheaper to book directly.
