The Pousada de Tavira is an elegant hotel which is located in the charming area of Tavira in the beautiful region of the Algarve in Portugal. The area is often referred to as the Venice of the Algarve as it lies across the river. Staff at the hotel are multilingual and very helpful. The hotel includes a gym, games room and free parking for guests, while internet access is available to guests at the reception area. There is also a lovely fireplace area at the hotel where guests can unwind with a book or have a couple of social drinks. For those who enjoy a spot of golf, the nearest golf course is only 7km away from the hotel. Water sports are also available as the beach is near by to the hotel and can be reached easily by foot. Location The hotel is located in the beach town of Tavira and makes the perfect choice for a relaxing beach holiday. Tavira is considered to be Algarve's most unspoilt and one of its most picturesque towns with a great sense of charm. Accomodation There are 36 rooms at the hotel and all rooms are spacious and clean which overlook the hotel's courtyard or gardens. All of the rooms include satellite TV, safe box, and private bathroom with WC, mini bar, air conditioning, heating, balcony and a hairdryer. Some rooms also offer balconies. Certain amenities may be payable locally. Eating and Drinking The hotel has a lovely restaurant on site which serves a tasty traditional breakfast each morning and guests will feel spoilt for choice with the amount of fresh fruit available. There is also a variety of international and local Portuguese cuisines available for lunch and dinner each day. The hotel has a bar in the lobby which serves a variety of beverages for guests throughout the day. Swimming Pools There is an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by exotic palm trees which guests can enjoy, while an additional swimming pool, which is suitable for children, means the little ones can play is safety. There are also plenty of sun loungers and parasols available for guests to use.
