School Tour to Berlin

Day 1 – Arrival & Berlin City Tour

• Meet travel representative at the airport

• Transfer to hotel and check-in

• Guided walking and coach tour of Berlin, exploring the city’s history and division:

  • Checkpoint Charlie Museum

  • Topography of Terror (SS & Police history during the Third Reich)

  • Asisi Panorama (experience life in a divided city)

• Evening meal at a local restaurant

Day 2 – Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp & Berliner Unterwelten

• Breakfast at the hotel

• Visit Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp with an audio guide to understand life in the camp during WWII

• Guided tour of Berliner Unterwelten to explore Berlin’s underground bunkers and tunnels, learning about their role during WWII and the Cold War

• Evening meal at a local restaurant

Day 3 – Hohenschönhausen Stasi Prison, DDR Museum & Shopping

• Breakfast at the hotel

• Guided tour of Hohenschönhausen Stasi Prison (often led by former inmates)

• Visit the DDR Museum to explore interactive exhibits on daily life in East Germany

• Free time to visit a market or visit the Mall of Berlin for shopping

• Evening meal at a local restaurant

Day 4 – Reichstag, Olympiastadion & Departure

• Breakfast and hotel check-out

• Guided visit to the Reichstag Building (including roof terrace & dome views)

• Tour of the Olympiastadion (host of 1936 Olympics and 2006 FIFA World Cup)

• Free time for sightseeing before transfer to the airport for return flight

Students can enjoy a guided tour of Berlin’s most famous landmarks, exploring how the city has transformed since its division. Highlights can include:

• Asisi Panorama (depicting life in a divided city)

Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp

A guided or audio-assisted visit to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp gives students a deep understanding of life under the Nazi regime. Walking through the camp and museum, students learn about historical events, human stories and the consequences of dictatorship.

Berliner Unterwelten (Bunker & Underground Tour)

The Berliner Unterwelten tour explores Berlin’s network of bunkers and tunnels, used during WWII and the Cold War. Students gain insight into how the city coped with conflict and occupation, seeing history from a unique underground perspective.

Hohenschönhausen Stasi Prison & DDR Museum

Students can visit the former Stasi Prison in Hohenschönhausen, often guided by former inmates, to understand life under East German surveillance. The DDR Museum offers hands-on exhibits that reveal daily life in East Germany.

Reichstag & Olympiastadion

Students can tour the Reichstag Building, home to Germany’s Parliament, and enjoy views from its famous glass dome. A guided visit to the Olympiastadion, host of the 1936 Olympics and 2006 FIFA World Cup, provides insight into Germany’s sporting history and architecture.
