Short Break in Ibiza from Shannon

Blog by Michelle Barron - Senior Travel Consultant at Stein Travel

Fancying some sunshine on your bones, but short on time?.... how about Shannon to Ibiza!

I’ve come back from a lovely 3 days in Ibiza flying direct from Shannon Airport with Ryanair.

It is so handy now that there are flights on Wednesday and Sundays afternoons so ideal for a short city break, group holiday or longer family holiday.

After a very quick check in at Shannon Airport, followed by a lovely carvery Sunday lunch at Sheridan’s, we boarded the flight and just  2hrs 45mins later we debarked into the glorious sunshine of Ibiza.

Transfer from the airport to our hotel Invisa Es Pla in San Antonio, took less then 30mins, and if we didn’t have transfers already included in the package, we could easily have caught the No.9 bus from the airport that goes every 30mins in peak season right to San Antonio for just €4!

The Hotel Invisa es Pla – (Adult only) in San Antonio was ideal, a very short walk to long stretch of beach, the heart of the action and the lovely marina where the watersports and sunset cruises depart from daily.

A vast buffet breakfast filled us up for the day, where we spent the morning at the “party” pool and the afternoons in the “quiet” pool. Now I can’t say that we used the fitness centre, but if you are that way inclined, it was there ready and waiting..

Transport in Ibiza is excellent and covers most of the island and in peak season the disco bus links all the main nightclubs and resorts for a very low price. San Antonio has a reputation for it’s mad nightlife, and June is busy but very manageable. We had a great night at Eden at very reasonable €25 entrance fee , just a 2 min walk from the hotel, so the ideal spot to take in some great music, watch the sunrise on the beach and head home for breakfast at the hotel.

We caught the bus from the local station in San Antonio directly to Ibiza town for just €2.10pp! Ibiza Town/Evissa is a lovely spot to just stroll around, grab a lovely ice cream and meander through the cobbled streets, stop in one of the lovely tapas restaurants for a cold beer, walk down by marina and take in views of the superyachts, or pack in some amazing shopping - from small  handmade jewellery shops, to large chain stores and shopping centres with all the main brands including Superdry, Mango and even a Sephora you are spoilt for choice!

I’d highly recommend Ibiza – and  with short 3 night holiday from just €259pp, and also 7nts and 10nts all  possible from your local Shannon Airport, don’t wait -  book today!
